5 Easy Pieces – Acting Made Real

5 Easy Pieces – Acting Made Real:

An intensive workshop led by Philip Knight
for actors of all levels who wish to develop their craft.

Over two days, the worlds of famous plays by, Harold Pinter, Tennessee Williams, Sam Shepard, Judith Thompson, Arthur Miller, Chekov, Ibsen and many others will open up in all their brilliance. Participants get the chance to explore and act scenes from these playwrights, and to act those scenes well.

We will focus on finding the scene through close examination of the story it tells, breaking the scene open by having fun with movement and speech, building the scene with experiments bound only by the limits of the imagination, doing the scene by utilizing classic rehearsal methods, and finally taking the scene one step beyond rehearsal into the living world we have created.
